The candidate can apply for a Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Tradesperson, Provincial Nominee or Canadian Experience Class programs by submission via the Online Express Entry System. As for the Family Class candidates, they should submit their applications via postal mail.
Federal Skilled Worker
These are the criteria that the candidate should meet to qualify as a Federal Skilled Worker:
• A year of full-time work experience in a qualified occupation.
• Able to accomplish 67 points based on the set of criteria (education, age, language skills, adaptability, work experience).
• Must pass an English Language test.
Federal Skilled Trades Person
To be a qualified Federal Skilled Tradesperson, you also need to meet all these criteria:
• Have a minimum two years of experience in a qualifying trade during a period of five years preceding the application.
• Have been offered at least one year of full-time employment.
• Have a Canadian Trades Certificate.
• Meet the Language criteria.
Canadian Experience Class
The qualified candidate needs to have at least one year of Canadian full-time work experience in a qualifying profession during three years preceding the date of the application.
To meet the criteria as a Provincial Nominee, the candidate should:
• Pass a Language Test.
• Have been given a recommendation certificate from a Canadian Province or territory.
• Have the essential amount of funds based on the family size.
Family class sponsorship program
Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada sponsor their close relatives which are their spouses, common-law partners, conjugal partners, children and adopted children under 22, parents and grandparents. To be qualified as a member of a family class sponsorship program, the sponsor should meet certain financial requirements and the candidate must be in a good health and have no criminal record.
